Remote Learning Tuesday 6/2

Hello K-class. Today you are going to be explorers in your own yard. Begin by looking closely at what is right under your feet! Next, we have a writing prompt that has you thinking about places that might be farther away.

Ms. Bigwood is also back on-line! Baby Éloïse is settling in and looks forward to “meeting” you all at tomorrow (Wednesday’s) Google Meet!

  1. Movement: Go outside and explore. How many different colored rocks can you find?. Are there any  that sparkle? Did you find one that was black? Maybe a white one, pink maybe? Round, square. How about the texture, how it feels. Did you find one that was smooth? Did you find one that is pointy, with sharp edges…..?

2. Writing/ Creativity/ Drawing:  Today’s writing prompt question: “If you could go anywhere, where would it be? Why would you want to go there? What would you do if you were there?” See if you can work on your story for at least 30 minutes. Draw a picture and write 2-3 sentences answering the questions above. Stretch out the words you want to spell to see how many sounds you can hear to write down. Remember to use lower case letters and add spaces between your words. Please send along your finished work for me to see! I love seeing what you are working on! If it is a piece you would like me to post to the blog, or if you want to bring it with you to Google Meet tomorrow, please share!

3. Science/ Reading: Let’s Find Out Magazine!  Log on to “Let’s Find Out” Magazine’s page. During the school year, students usually take home one a week in their orange Friday folder. You may now access these online, and virtually complete the activity at the end of the virtual magazine. Access the website here: https://letsfindout.scholastic.com/home-page-logged-in.html  The classroom code is Roadsize6105. Read and complete the activities for “High Five for Summer Safety.”

4. Reading: Read, Read, Read. Grab one of your favorite books and curl up with a stuffy, a sibling, or someone in your household. Look at all the words that you know. Try to sound out the words that you don’t know.

5. Art: Tuesdays are art days in Kindergarten! Make sure you visit the art teacher’s blog space to see what she has planned for you this week!

6. Math: Log into  one of the following great sites for 20 minutes that work on Math skills:
