Remote Learning Thursday 6/4

Good Morning K-class. Today we are going to go on a virtual field trip to a train museum. Choo Choo!!! Enjoy learning all about the different cars that the engine pulls.

  1. Science: Virtual Field Trip: Today you’re going to learn all about trains…..

2. Writing/ Creativity/ Drawing:  Today’s writing prompt question: If you were on a train where would you be going? Would you be the conductor? What would you see if you were a passenger on one? See if you can work on your story for at least 30 minutes. Draw a picture and write 2-3 sentences answering the questions above. Stretch out the words you want to spell to see how many sounds you can hear to write down. Remember to use lower case letters and add spaces between your words. Please send along your finished work for me to see! I love seeing what you are working on!

3. Reading: Hey diddle diddle,

                The cat in the fiddle.

Do you have a rhyming book? Have someone read the book to you and see if you can say the rhyming word that is coming up next in the book. No rhyming books? Then how many words can you come up with that rhyme? (cat, bat, big, dig, ball, fall, hill, spill…..)

4. Science: Today we will finish our Bean Science journals. Take your final measurements before finding a spot outside to plant your bean plant. Don’t forget to put a tall stick or dowel in the ground near your plant to offer it support as it gets even taller. I hope it grows you a delicious bean to eat!

5. Math: Train Theme!  Using Fruit loops (or other snack or manipulative with different colors, like fruit snacks) to make a fruit loop train! Make a train with 4 red fruit loops and two green ones. How many “train cars” in all?  Practice writing the number sentence! Mix the colors up to make a “train.”  First count how many red? How many blue? How many yellow? How many all together? How do you write that as a number sentence? Great practice counting math facts and using math symbols!
