The Leaf Man by Lois Elhert was the inspiration for the kindergarten leaf people project. Students found leaves in the school yard to create their own leaf person. The students then selected different characteristics for their person and crafted it into a Descriptive Leaf Man Poem.  We created a movie of the students reading their Leaf Man Poems.

Our class read the story “Pumpkin Jack” by Will Hubbell together. Pumpkin Jack may fade, but every year he returns, as a new pumpkin grown from the seeds of the old Jack. I wonder if Jack will return next year too…
